Nourish
My word for 2024 came to me slowly. I’m never in a rush to discover it. I pray humbly and wait patiently.
I’ve practiced choosing a Word of the Year for over a decade now, and I truly believe it is often an answer to my asking. This small discipline has become a relationship-builder between me and the Holy Spirit. He uses my word to guide me, encourage me, gently correct me, and shape my growth.
Last year, the word tenacity formed me in ways I could never have planned. It was a difficult year—one filled with opportunities to stretch my faith.
What I discovered along the way surprised me: tenacity and joy are co-workers. Joy became the catapult that allowed me to face challenges with persistent determination. I found joy within tenacity.
As I step into this year, my prayer is simple. May I learn to nourish my mind, body, and soul in ways that draw me closer to my Savior—and shape me into who He created me to be.
